🎉 We are thrilled to announce that the Network for Certification and Conservation of Forests (NCCF) has just inked a momentous Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Forest and Environment Department, Government of Meghalaya to build the capacity of the Forest Department in the domain of sustainable natural resource management and its allied practices with a focus on Forest Certification and Carbon Credit! 🌍🌿

📅The MoU, was signed on 07th March 2024, by Mr. R S Gill (PCCF & HoFF Meghalaya) representing the Forest and Environment Department, Govt. of Meghalaya, and Mr. A. M. Singh (Director General, NCCF) at Meghalaya House, Delhi. 🤝

This collaboration marks a significant step towards fostering sustainable natural resource management practices in Meghalaya, with a laser focus on Carbon Credit initiatives and Forest Certification. 🌍💚

Here’s a sneak peek into our action-packed plans:

1️. Sensitization Workshops: We’re gearing up to host engaging workshops to enlighten key stakeholders about Forest Certification, Carbon Credit, and other vital NCCF standards like Tree Outside Forests, Ecotourism, and Quality Planting Material.

2️. Capacity Building: Our training programs are set to equip officers and stakeholders in Meghalaya with the necessary skills for navigating the intricate processes of Carbon Credit proposals and Forest Certification.

3️. Pilot Site Certification: We’re all set to certify different types of forests like reserved forests, private forests, and community forests, each showcasing the rich diversity of the region’s forests.

4️. Carbon Credit Proposals: We’re dedicated to guiding the development and registration of carbon projects on the Carbon Registry.
