NCCF greets the Hon’ble Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, and Information & Broadcasting

Shri AK Srivastava, Executive Director, Network for Certification and Conservation of Forests (NCCF) called on Shri Prakash Javadekar, Hon’ble Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, and greeted him on taking over reigns of the two very important Ministries. Shri Srivastava mentioned that Hon’ble Minister had already guided the Environment Ministry as a passionate environmentalist in the previous government and expressed the confidence that Nation will achieve new heights in the environment and forestry sectors under his dynamic stewardship”
 Shri Srivastava had drawn his kind attention to the Twitter remark dated 9th February of Dr. Harsh Vardhan, then Hon’ble Minister for EF&CC about the use of certified wood that promotes Sustainable Forest Management, under the Green Good Deeds movement. He also apprised the Minister about NCCF’s efforts of working with the Ministry to promote forest certification and implementation of NCCF’s certification standards, being user friendly, will go a long way in conserving and enhancing the rich forests and the biodiversity of India. Hon’ble Minister noted the works being done by NCCF. Mr. Srivastava added that the aims and objectives of NCCF are fully in sync with the mandate, vision, and mission of the Ministry and would be happy to be of any assistance to the Ministry.
