Hiring: Business Development Manager – Forest Certification & Conservation
We are seeking an experienced and performance-driven Business Development Manager to strengthen our network in the domain of forest certification, sustainability standards, and conservation initiatives.
The role will be responsible for expanding strategic partnerships, driving revenue growth, and enhancing stakeholder engagement across corporates, forest owners, NGOs, and government institutions with a focus on sustainability and the PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) Chain of Custody (CoC) Certification Scheme.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sustainability Certification Scheme Development: Supervise and monitor progress of sustainability certification schemes and engage with stakeholders including ministries, state governments, institutions, and CSOs.
- PEFC CoC Certification Scheme Strategy: Develop and implement strategies for efficient management and growth.
- Stakeholder Liaison: Establish and maintain strategic relationships with government bodies, industries, certification and accreditation bodies.
- Industry Engagement: Build relationships with industries related to PEFC Forest Management, Trees outside Forests (ToF), and CoC schemes.
- Government and Ministry Collaboration: Liaise with ministries, forest departments, corporations, and plantation initiatives under FM and ToF certification schemes.
- Business Development: Prepare proposals, identify growth opportunities, and secure partnerships.
- Deliverables & KPIs: Ensure timely delivery aligned with defined KPIs.
- CoC Certification Growth: Increase the number of CoC-certified companies across sectors including pulp & paper, furniture, construction, rubber, textiles, etc.
- Fundraising: Identify funding opportunities and build donor relationships.
- Workshops & Webinars: Organize training sessions, workshops, webinars, and meetings.
- Proposal Preparation: Prepare proposals, concept notes, and project plans.
- Project Coordination: Lead planning, coordination, and execution of projects.
- Team Leadership: Guide coordinators and provide mentorship.
- Event Representation: Represent the organization at industry events and conferences.
- Proposal Development & Reporting: Contribute to project proposals and annual reporting.
- Travel Requirement: Willingness to travel as required.
The Business Development Manager will work closely with the NCCF Secretariat, Director General, and other team members to achieve organizational goals and strengthen sustainability certification initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Forestry, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business Administration, or related field.
- 3–7 years of relevant Business Development experience (certification, ESG, sustainability preferred).
- Strong commercial acumen, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Working knowledge of FSC/PEFC or similar certification frameworks is an advantage.

Salary: 18,000 – 20,000 INR/month
Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate the daily administrative functions of the office
- Schedule appointments and meetings for Director General and staff
- Respond to incoming calls, emails, and other inquiries in a timely and professional manner
- Maintain office records and ensure accurate filing of documents
- Prepare and distribute internal and external communications, including memos, emails, and reports
- Assist with the coordination of office events and meetings
- Monitor office inventory and order supplies as needed
- Provide general support to visitors and clients

Requirements:
